Hunter Functional Health is a multidisciplinary allied health practice based in Newcastle, NSW, offering Paediatric Occupational Therapy, Sports Chiropractic services and a range of soft tissue therapies (including the latest shockwave therapy).

We are here to help our patients achieve their goals, build capacity, and work through challenges, whether they arise at home, work, school, or in fitness.We have a strong focus on sports, exercise and enhancing the mind-body connection. We work with clients across all age groups, from children as needing developmental support, pregnancy and post-natal support (in and out of the gym) to adults and athletes seeking pain management, injury rehabilitation, athletic performance improvement and more.

RECEPTIONIST (Part-time)

Hunter Functional Health is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and driven receptionist to join our busy allied health clinic.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in health and well-being to join a multi-disciplinary team of Chiropractors and Occupational Therapists.

  • Your responsibilities:

    Greeting and engaging with customers at reception

    Managing reception, incoming calls, and emails

    Appointment bookings

    Receiving and receipting payments using Hicaps & Eftpos and data entry

    Balancing takings, filing, and short letter typing, data-entry

    Preparing rooms and gym between patients and the clinic for the next consultation day

    Providing effective responses and follow-up to calls and emails

    Providing admin support to the practitioners

    Ideal candidate:

    Ability to multitask while demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy

    Ability to work both independently and as a team member

    Self-directed with very good time management skills

    Clear and confident on the phone and in person

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Professional presentation

    Experience in Medical or Allied Health reception and admin is a bonus.

Occupational Therapy

Join our team as an Occupational Therapist.

You will work with children of all ages, helping them develop the skills they need to perform daily activities and achieve developmental milestones. Demonstrated experience working with children and experience with retained reflexes, neuro-motor development, ASD and ADHD highly desirable.

  • This is a full-time on-site role as an Occupational Therapist at Hunter Functional Health.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating patients' functional abilities, developing personalised treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions.

    You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and support patients' recovery and rehabilitation process. Your day-to-day tasks may include conducting assessments, reporting, collaboration with other health professionals, school visits and providing education and support to clients and their families on site as our fully equipped clinic and activity space.

    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities

    • Empathy and compassion for patients

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy

    • Valid licenses, registrations and insurances to practice in NSW
