ANDREW LIM SPORTS CHIROPRACTOR

Andrew’s interest in Sports Chiropractic has led him to treat athletes from junior to elite levels in many sports including tennis, golf, athletics, cycling, pole dancing, Crossfit, bodybuilding, powerlifting, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA. Andrew's expertise extends to working at prestigious events such as the Australian Open, World Masters Games, Oxfam Trailwalker and Ironman events. Andrew is also a Tennis Performance Specialist (CTPS) certified by the International Tennis Performance Association and fully certified ART (Active Release Techniques/) provider.

  • Andrew also lectures in Human Anatomy at Macquarie University.

    Andrew provides corrective exercise rehabilitation, injury management, and biomechanical correction as part of performance-based chiropractic care – incorporating innovative techniques such as video analysis, muscle dynamometer and force plates, specifically aiming to reduce and prevent injuries.

Aaron is the only titled Sports and Exercise Chiropractors in the Hunter region. Dual-qualified as a Sports Chiropractor and Occupational Therapist, Aaron has also served on the clinical service teams at the CrossFit® Pacific Regionals, Australian Championships, Ironman® events.

  • Aaron holds post-graduate qualifications in Strength and Conditioning, Pilates, Sports medicine, rehabilitation, paediatric development and various soft tissue therapies and has also worked across multiple Universities as an Anatomy and Sports Medicine tutor.

    He is one of the few dual-qualified Chiropractors and Occupational Therapists working in Australia.

    As an Occupational Therapist, Aaron specifically cares for children with musculoskeletal issues, developmental delays, sensory processing issues, retained neonatal reflexes and self-regulation.

SHAE FAMULARO CHIROPRACTOR

Shae has worked on the clinical teams for Sydney’s City to Surf, The Townsville Triathlon & Multi-Sport Festival and CrossFit Pacific Regionals, Her real-world experience helps her achieve optimal results with minimum intervention. 

  • Starting her career in a sport and performance-focused multi-disciplinary clinic, Shae was able to expand on her existing skill set while continuing to build on her education through a number of post-graduate qualifications. 

    Shae enjoys working with all her patients and has a passion for helping those with musculoskeletal injuries and migraine treatments.

MOBILISATION + MANIPULATION

Corrections used to aid individuals with pain, stiffness and associated symptoms like headaches, nerve irritation and referred pain.

  • At Hunter Functional Health, manipulations and mobilisation (low force techniques) are always used in conjunction with exercise and soft tissue therapy to improve joint movement, aid body awareness (proprioception) and desensitise inflamed tissues.

Active release is a soft tissue method that focuses on relieving tissue tension.

  • Active release works via the removal of fibrosis / adhesions which can develop in tissues as a result of overload due to repetitive use and may lead to muscular weakness, numbness, aching, tingling and burning sensations.
